Business Climate The most notable of Oregon's Tax structure is the lack of sales tax. Because of this, the majority of the State's revenue is derived through personal income tax and property tax. Oregon
enjoys the lowest business tax burden of the three West Coast States.
There is no real estate transfer tax, no motor vehicle excise tax and
no business and occupation tax. In Oregon, new employers pay the base
unemployment tax rate for a minimum of two years in order to establish
a claims history. The Worker's Comp rates, after a dramatic revamping,
