Business Climate Transportation The Dalles Area hosts a number of transportation options. The Dalles Municipal Airport is located just across the Columbia River in Dallesport and easily supports a number of aircraft options. The airport has three runways with the longest paved runway extending 5,097 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 243 feet and a distance of approximately 2 miles from the historic downtown. The town is located along the I84 corridor with rail and river cargo service available. Other available transportation include Greyhound and The Link, a local passenger bus system. Passenger railway service is available from Wishram, Washington, an approximate 20 minute drive from the downtown area.
